    Inverness Castle

    Inverness is the capital of the Highlands of Scotland. The castle was built in 1836 and houses Inverness Sheriff Court.
    Inverness means “the mouth of the Ness”, and the River Ness runs through the town (population 62,470). The river originates at the northern end of the world-famous Loch Ness.
